Bob is an assurance & advisory services partner with 28 years of experience at Deloitte, including 16 years as a partner. Bob Graduated from the University of Utah in 1984 with a degree in accounting and started his career with Deloitte in the Salt Lake City Office where he was a staff and senior accountant, serving a variety of clients. In 1989, Bob was promoted to manager and moved to Connecticut where he assumed the role of accounting research manager in Deloitte's National Office in New York City, and following the merger of Deloitte Haskins and Sells with Touche Ross, in Wilton Connecticut. In 1991, Bob returned to Salt Lake City where he spent the next 5 years as a manager and senior manager serving primarily energy and banking clients, including PacifiCorp and First Security Bank. In 1996 Bob was admitted as a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP, and embarked on an adventure with his family as a US expatriate in Madrid Spain. While in Spain, Bob was the US Desk Partner, serving Multinational Companies, including General Motors, Merrill Lynch, Kimberly Clark, Bridgestone Firestone and Dow Chemical. This role included travel throughout Europe and also involved working on cross-border M&A transactions. Bob returned to the United States locating in Northern Virginia in 2000, where he has worked and lived for the past 12 years.
Bob has served a number of audit clients in various industries, including PG&E, Washington Gas, South Jersey Industries, Primus Telecommunications and Towers Watson. In addition Bob has served in a Lead Client Service Role for some of Deloitte's non audit clients, where he leads teams providing advisory and consulting services, to clients such as General Dynamics, Constellation Energy, and a large consumer products manufacturer. In 2008, Bob also assumed a role as the leader of IFRS services to clients in Deloitte's Southeast Region In addition Bob has taken an active role in recruiting graduating students from BYU, Utah and other Schools from the West to the Greater Washington area.
Bob is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is licensed in Washington DC, Maryland, Utah and Virginia. He currently serves as President of the McLean Virginia Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
